The Training and Consultancy Division
Training Services
At Avvy Group’s Training and Consultancy Division, we aim to work in collaboration with organisations who commission us, in order to develop change that can be sustained by practitioners long after our associates have finished their work. We know that bringing in “the experts” to deliver short training programmes may result in practitioners feeling that they have been “told what to do” rather than owning the ideas and having time to try out the skills that have been taught and make them their own. Our single and multi-agency training delivers high quality, cost effective training designed to suit your requirements and budget. By listening to and understanding our customers’ requirements, we are able to use that knowledge to develop training courses tailored to your needs. We work with you to share and develop ideas, suggest relevant aims and outcomes which take account of current national context, and ensure that our training is flexible and adaptable. Our excellent track record, working with multi-agency organisations nationwide, equips us with the ability to anticipate challenges, requirements, opportunities and constraints faced daily by our customers. A range of relevant training methods are used. Our training:
  • Integrates agency policy and procedures
  • Promotes anti-oppressive practice
  • Delivers up-to-date research, practice and knowledge
  • Takes place within a context where everyone feels safe to learn

Our Training Methodologies

A range of delivery methods are offered to provide the relevant and most effective training solution. These are as follows:

Instructor Led Training

Instructor led training is facilitated by a qualified instructor and is held at our facilities, a hotel or at your location. It is an ideal medium for individuals new to technologies and who benefit from hands-on learning. Each of our instructor led training courses are skill-based and cover a range of certification requirements.

E-Learning

Anytime - Anywhere. When time and money is an issue, e-learning is definitely the answer! With "new generation" interactive content, you will be able to log onto any computer and learn in an interactive and fun manner, via the internet, corporate intranet or even via a CD-ROM. You will be able to track your own progress and access your learning progress at anytime.

Seminar Training

We recommended seminar training to clients who have small subject matter to be covered, large groups to be trained, short timeframe to dedicate to training or simply require a brief overview. Seminar training courses are generally conducted to groups of between 20 and 50 people.

Training Workshops

Useful for groups who require training on specific topics within an application and helps facilitate a more detailed and individual specific training forum.

One to One Training

Individual sessions that target specific individual requirements. These sessions are often beneficial for senior executives or management staff who does not have time to attend longer, standard courses.

Just in Time Training

We offer Just in Time training solutions to clients who are managing an IT related rollout of new software; upgrading software or implementing a new Standard Operating Environment (SOE). Whist Desktops are upgraded, staffs attend training sessions alleviating staff downtime and allowing what has been learnt, to be practiced immediately in the 'new' operating environment.

Roving Training

After attending an instructor-led course, roving training can assist where individuals may have additional questions relating to their new working environment. Generally, the instructor would "roam" around the client's office or be available at one central location for users to ask questions or seek help. The benefit is that it provides an inexpensive and very effective method of providing additional support; particularly after classroom training has been completed.

Self-Paced Study

Self-paced study is an alternative to a traditional learning method enabling staff to learn at their own pace, in their own time and in their own environment. We supply a range of self-paced materials from Microsoft and other vendors, all of which are available for distribution.

Client Support & Mentor Services

Avvy provides all the necessary support and guidance for a student to gain their certifications. Accredited staff is available through our telephone and email client support and mentoring service.

Pilot Courses

Delivered to key staff members who may have a stake in the overall content and training delivery when a course has been customised. Allows for a process of feedback and re-adjustment of course content or any other matter prior to the commencement of the main training rollout.
Consultancy Services
Avvy Group offers a range of interventions involving the use of coaching and/or mentoring. These can either be linked to traditional classroom based learning or as standalone interventions to develop managers and staff.

Both strategies involve the use of one-to-one discussions to develop and enhance an individual’s professional work based skills, knowledge or work performance. Strengths based, motivational techniques are used with similar models and skills of questioning, listening, clarifying and reframing to support others to identify and develop their role and professional identity. Both approaches allow for genuine Continuous Professional Development (CPD).

Mentoring is often associated more with same profession type role modelling whereby a more experienced and confident worker or manager helps the less experienced learn and develop – often making good use of their own career journey and sharing examples of practice wisdom.

Coaching is more normally, short term goal focused work, often with the intention of helping someone change direction or improve workplace performance.

Both coaching and mentoring require development of close but professional trusting relationships whereby the recipient can learn and decide on what areas of their work / career they wish to develop and improve.

Avvy Group associates are qualified and experienced in this field of personal to professional development in the workplace. Since this area of work is always tailored to specific requirement, please contact us for a discussion on how we can meet your needs.
